I love it when I get a sneak peek at a husband’s reaction to a boudoir album, and K. was gracious enough to snap a photo and send along this comment: “I know this is belated but I wanted to let you know how the album went over with my hubby. I gave it to him for Christmas and he LOVED it! His first reaction was “wow” and then he kept repeating it every time he turned the page. I attached a picture because it was so funny! He said “hands down it was the best present he’s ever received”, which says a lot because once he got a car for Christmas! He even has it stored in the nightstand for safekeeping. Thank you again so much! I think you have such an amazing gift and your desire to want to make women feel good about themselves is so inspiring! “

Ruth came with her violin for some promotional images – and stopped us in her tracks as she played for us as she twirled and swirled with the violin under the studio lights. These are a few of the favorite images from the session- look for them to be featured in the Nevada Chamber Music Festival promotional material.

It was a cold and windy night in downtown Reno, but we lit it up! M2 photographers Michael Escalera and Michael Imus led a group of intrepid photographers and freezing models on a hunt for dramatic nighttime lighting – along the river, across the bridge, and into a parking garage. Here are a few of the results – a very different look from the usual studio lighting, but pretty cool (literally) just the same.

J. was determined to make it here – she had an idea that a boudoir shoot would help bolster her self image (and we all could use that – couldn’t we!) So, she came by train from several hours away, booked a hotel, and made a week-end of pampering herself. After make-up and hairstyling, we talked about what she was looking for, and how she hoped the photo shoot could help. Here’s one of the more “appropriate” images from that shoot, and one of her comments afterwards:
“Just wanted to write you a note to say “Thank you” for the session and the photo. You were very patient with someone who is just getting over such low self esteem. I really love that photo I bought. I never realized THAT’s what I look like…that that is what other people see when they look at me. I never realized how beautiful I am until I saw that photo. I do look like Teresa Heinz with a bit of Shakira thrown in!( Shakira’s softer look anyway….in her latest look the video is sexy, but the still photos are a bit scary) I will definitely be back as soon as I can for another session”
Thank you – J. – that’s why we do this!

I'm a featured blogger on Mamapedia Voices

I spent last weekend at Shadowcatcher Studio in San Diego learning Pin Up Photography from the master himself – Robert Alvarado. There were photographers there from as far away as Bermuda. The hair and make-up artists did their magic, and then we all posed, and shot, and processed the photos to recreate a classic “pin-up” look, and I LOVE the results. And now, we’re ready to offer pin-up portraits in the studio!

She wanted to surprise her “groom to be” with a little black book of images, to be presented right after the rehearsal dinner.

Here’s a sneak peek for Christi from her session – she made it so easy! And her Greek background shone through in the white on white photos – just gorgeous! 0270 for web

For Fanny’s second session, we decided to go dramatic, and channeled Brigitte Bardot. The make-up and hair made the look – and I think she got the pose down! It was so much fun to go for a whole different look this time:
