Ashlee wasn’t quite sure that she’s was up to a boudoir shoot – she came along to her friend’s shoot as moral support. But after watching her friend at the make-up table and on the boudoir set, she got her courage up and slipped into a camisole and in front of the camera…with gorgeous results. Here’s a sneak peek at the session:

Well, it’s not exactly boudoir photography, but I couldn’t resist. A. came for some “after” shots – She’s spent the last 12 weeks working her butt off – literally – working out 4 hours a day….and NO chocolate. A little bit of pumping and a little bit of glaze, and we set up the lights to show off all her hard work. What an inspiration – I went right to Costco to get the book she used – Fit for Life…..along with some chocolates. Doesn’t she look awesome?!IMG_3587

Well, when you’re working on perfecting a high key lighting set-up, there’s nothing better than using models who will work for M&Ms. My daughters are always willing to jump in front of the camera to help me out, so I wanted to post a few photos we took while trying to get that “perfect white” in the studio setting. I may be a bit biased, but aren’t they beautiful!

I couldn’t wait to post some of the photos from a day long photo shoot at Sand Mountain, sponsored by Reno photographers Michael Imus and Michael Escalera (otherwise known as M2). We got a chance to envision our “dream shots”, and then try to create them. The photo I envisioned was of a beautiful woman on the dunes, dressed in red, with fabric flowing in the wind behind her. Here is how the shot turned out, along with several other of my favorites from the shoot – you can also see a slideshow of these images called “The Dance” here in the Cahoots Portraits for Women galleries

The lucky winner of the Clever Magazine Boudoir Shoots Contest was…..(drumroll…..) Ashley Martinez! Ashley came for her boudoir shoot with a gorgeous English camisole, a killer pair of Aldo high heels, and her favorite team jersey. She got a complete make-over from make-up artist Kathleen Audet, and then it was time for her boudoir photography session. Here are a few previews from the shoot – you can read more about the shoot in the April edition of Clever Magazine. Ashley – you do look like Angelina Jolie!

If you’ve never visited Comma Coffee, you’ve missed out on a great experience. Comma Coffee is more than a coffee shop, it’s a place “where everybody knows your name. Among comfy couches, books and games, chess, live music, dancing, poetry, and… oh yeah, GREAT COFFEE and FOOD, generations mingle, new friendships are formed, and old relationships are nurtured”. And since it’s right across from the legislature buildings in Carson City, you never know who might drop in…. And to make it even more exciting, on April 8th, Boudoir comes to Comma Coffee! We’ll be setting up lighting and using some of the great backgrounds in the shop. Bring your own lingerie, we’ll provide the make-up and an evening of mingling, a glass of wine, and a photo shoot. For details, check out Comma Coffee’s website and look at April 8th!

We’re so excited about the contest that Clever Magazine is sponsoring – the lucky winner will receive a make-over by Kathleen of “wonderwhy“, a boudoir photo shoot, and a little book of images.  Not only that, the winner will be featured in an upcoming issue, with an article showing her transformation!  To see more details, pick up a copy of CLEVER Magazine, or read a copy online at www.clevermagazine.net

And here’s a quote from Wendy about the sitting -  “Wow – what a fun photo shoot! And your pictures are so flattering! …Now that I’ve done this once, I kind of want to do it again – ha ha ha! I really like how the pictures turned out and what we did and yet now that I’ve seen the whole gallery on your site I have other ideas and I think I would feel a little more creative.  And do let me know if you plan to do that Boudoir party, I think that would be a lot of fun and momentum/creativity would peak.
